“This community has made me feel heard, valued, acknowledged, encouraged, supported. Everyone is always so helpful and have taught me so many things. I truly feel like I’m a better player than I was before. While I have been playing FFXIV since long, long ago, I have never been as OBSESSED with it like I am recently, specifically because this community helps to make it the most enjoyable it’s ever been. I was usually warm and cold about playing because my past experiences with this game has involved a lot of unnecessary complications, but now I’m always excited to have fun and experience things with everyone. It’s what I think about most during my daily life, haha!”

“I used to avoid joining guilds or gaming communities because I felt like I’d hold everyone back due to my lack of experience. I would get shunned or excluded from raids or events, and the overall vibe often felt toxic. But the HJP community is not like that. In the HJP community I feel welcomed and supported every time I play or watch a live stream. This community has not only helped me level up in the game but also helped me become more thoughtful and collaborative in real life. In game whenever I need help, someone is always there, and it’s inspired me to pay it forward in real life too.”

“I've joined several Discord servers, most not even related to FFXIV, and I follow several creatives on YouTube and Twitch, but none of them are more than an entertaining watch, or some information sources. I almost never interact with any of them beyond a "like" or occasional question hoping someone has an answer for a problem. I don't really know why or how, but something about this community clicked with me and it genuinely feels like a group of friends hanging out. Heather, I think, might call it "magic" and... I'm inclined to believe that.”

I’ve often felt like things matter too much to me compared to others, and it made it OK to care like that. “The HJP community has been very special because it's the first time I've ever participated with an online gaming community (been gaming since the 90's!). I've followed many content creators over the years but with such large and established followings -like Preach Gaming or Grinding Gear- I felt like I'd be just another number in the community. I like that the HJP channel and community are in the early stage! It already has cool, chill, and friendly members who are brought together for our love of gaming, FFXIV, and Heather's content!”

“HJP is a community of people, by the people, and for the people. We all came together from many corners of Eorzea, and YouTube all because 1 person was discouraged from a raid he went on. So many people responded to that to let him know that FFXIV community on a whole is not like other games where toxic behavior is just part of the game. From that we all realized we had met some really good people, and it just stuck. Thus, Kraken’s Call was born.”
