Best April Fool’s Day Ever
i posted this to my "main" channel and wanted to share it here too! i haven't really been sharing any HJP updates at all on my other channels. for april, my goal is to tell the whole story of how the HJP community came together, the ORT initiative, and then announce our next chapter as a nonprofit organization! moving forward, heatherjustplay will be my "main" channel but currently, this is the "new" thing to the existing audience that's been following me for years.
i’ve been meaning to do an update on what i’ve been working on but things have been moving so fast, i haven’t had the chance! since october, i’ve been building the community around my gaming youtube channel, heatherjustplay (HJP), and it’s grown into something bigger than anything i’ve ever done on my journey as a youtube creator.✨
last week, i made a big announcement to the community about the future of HJP! i’ll share more about it here soon but this move would:
🟣advocate for the positive impact of videos games and online communities
🟣be an example for content creators looking to focus on IMPACT
🟣be the first of its kind, as far as i know
🟣become my new focus for the foreseeable future
the HJP community is so special. these pictures represent such a diverse community. people from different states and countries. people from all walks of life. there’s a 73 year old gamer in here too! every day, i’m in awe of how vibrant and positive this community is.
in a world that’s felt really uncertain lately, this space has given us joy, hope, and purpose. i want to dedicate myself to helping it grow.
and today… they got me.😜
for april fools, everyone turned into lalafells (and one actual lalafell became an elezen)! i usually don’t like april fools day (too many disappointing pranks), but this? this was PERFECT. silly, wholesome, absolutely hilarious and a reminder that fun really is magic. tom was even in on it! he’s the lalafell that i’m hugging on the right in the first photo 😝
