HJP’s first trivia night: Final Fantasy style!

last night, we had the first of what will probably be many trivia nights in HJP. AND IT WAS AWESOME! 🤩

it was hosted by Kaeyin Se, one of the first HJP community members and our Fellowship Coordinator! in the short time i’ve gotten to know Kae, he’s shown me to be someone who has a lot of heart. he cares so much that everyone is having a good time. he was actually the one who lead the very FIRST official HJP event and that event played a big role in shaping my vision for Operation: Rising Tide.

so when Kae said he wanted to do the first Trivia Night and it would be all about Final Fantasy, two words: Let’s Go.

the questions were in jeopardy style and “answer as fast as you can” style. they spanned every main number game in the Final Fantasy series, from I to XVI. the craziest part is that KAE DID IT ALL FROM MEMORY. 🤯 i’m literally not capable of doing that since my memory is… not the best.😅 this took place in our Discord server and in the Kraken’s Call Mess Hall in FFXIV. we had voice chat on but no video so i couldn’t see Kae’s face. still, i could FEEL Kae light up as he was asking the questions and reading out everyone’s answers. i could not help but beam from his enthusiasm and there was laughter to be had all around! 😊

thinking about all the Final Fantasy games made me want to play them all over again. it was so cool hearing everyone have the same excitement for games i grew up playing. i remember being so in love with Final Fantasy VIII back in high school. in the pre-smart phone days, we doodled in our notebooks and i remember writing the lyrics to “Eyes on Me” over and over. i couldn’t stop thinking about the game. i loved it that much.

i had not a single person to share this with. and now, i have many. and i’m so grateful for it.💜
